Vitamin Angels trained 78 RHEMN volunteers in Gombe on “Technical Competency”

Rural Health Mission Nigeria in collaboration with Vitamin Angels Foundation are training field volunteers on “technical competency” to safely administer vitamin A supplement and deworming. The VA technical team headed by Ms Adedoyin Adesina who over saw the training facilitation at Gombe said this training exercise is in line with VA’s standard practice. service providers were trained in community education, antiseptic techniques to prevent infection transmission, Vit A supplementation dosages, deworming, its side effects, record keeping/documentation and counseling in order to effectively deliver services in the community with less or no supervision. RHEMN targets to train its volunteers spread across the six states in the Northeast including; Taraba, Yobe, Adamawa, Gombe and Bauchi where community services are currently ongoing.

During the two-day training and evaluation in Gombe, the team were able to train 78 service providers in Gombe state. The training will continue in Borno state which is the next schedule.
