"Eliminating Barriers to Quality Healthcare Access"

How We Utilized $100 raised online in 2017 and our 2018 plan.

Couple of months ago, we launched an online fundraising campaign on #Global Giving platform to provide Antenatal services including drugs, clean birth kits and other consumables to strengthen PHC facilities in ubder-served communities. Our target was to raise $5000 within the time frame of 3 weeks.

We understand that most of our local supporters cannot process online donation in dollars and unfortunately the platform only accepts dollar currency to donate and no alternative means of donating.

Despite the these challenges we were able to raise the total sum of $100 translating into N35k in Nigeria Naira.

With this amount, we were able to organize a mini medical outreach in Kagarawal community with support from Vitamin Angels who supplied Antenatal drugs, Vitamin A supplement and deworming tablets. We conducted outreaches to commemorate World Malaria Day 2018 at PHC London Maidoruwa community, PHC Bolari and PHC Gabukka where we distributed about 100 insecticide treated nets, screened and treated over 300 persons for malaria. Treated nets were supported by FTH Gombe.

We are currently supporting three facilities in Gombe LGA (London Maidoruwa, Bolari and Hanukkah) and other places with essential ANC drugs and other consumables. The idea is to ensure sustainable access to quality healthcare services by vulnerable groups living in under-served communities.

On #June_12 2018 another round of online fundraising will be launched via the same platform. This time around we are targeting to purchase and distribute 1000 pieces of clean birth kits and offer lifesaving training to atleast 1000 community health workers and village health workers before the year runs out.

These commodities will be distributed among 21 facilities selected to benefit from our support across 4 states; Taraba (3 facilities in Sardauna LGA), Gombe (6 facilities in Gombe and Akko LGA), Plateau (6 facilities in Jos North and Wase LGAs) and Yobe (5 facilities in Potiskum and Fika LGAs).

As always, we are soliciting for your support; you can do that by donating, asking your family and friends to do same and sharing the link below on all social networks at your reach.

Thank you for supporting our activities and I implore you check the link below…/donate-birth-kits-to-save-1…/
